Jordan Turner’s 2021 Testimonial Jersey is now on sale!
Turner is eager for his testimonial jersey to commemorate the career highlights that he cherishes. Turner began his career with the Salford Red Devils in 2007 before playing at Hull FC and St. Helens. Turner then spent time at Canberra Raiders in the NRL, earning a place in the World All Stars Team in 2017. Turner then joined Huddersfield Giants for three and a half years, before signing for Castleford Tigers in November 2020.
“Early highlights of my career include captaining my amateur team Waterhead and England U18s and making my debut for Salford in 2006 when I was 17. The highlight from my time at Hull FC has to be scoring a hat-trick in the Hull derby in 2012. At St. Helens, I won player of the year in 2013 and was part of the Grand Final winning team in 2014. In 2017, I was selected for the NRL World All Stars”, said Turner.
Designed by Ellgren, the jersey reflects the colours of the teams Turner has represented throughout his career, and also incorporates his testimonial sponsors. The back of the shirt features the motto of Turner’s amateur club, the Waterhead Warriors.
“The shirt and the testimonial mean a great deal to me and my family as it’s recognition of the career we have sacrificed and worked so hard for. The shirt pays tribute to the clubs I have proudly played for, including my amateur club whose emblem and motto “the place of attainable dreams” is emblazoned on the back”, explained Turner.
While the Coronavirus pandemic has postponed his testimonial game, Turner is keen to have the opportunity to connect with fans and celebrate his illustrious career through the jersey.
“Whilst being bitterly disappointed that it’s highly unlikely I will be able to wear the shirt in my testimonial game before the Super League season kicks off, this will give me a chance to connect with the fans in the form of people wearing my shirt”, admitted Turner.
“I’d like to thank the Ellgren team for their efforts in swiftly sorting out the shirt in such short notice. I hope to be able to put some events on that people can attend when restrictions permit and maybe even a game later in the year. I would like to wish everyone reading this the very best for 2021. We all know the last twelve months have been difficult for the majority of us, I, like everyone else, long for normality. For players, rugby league just isn’t the same without spectators in grounds, and I sincerely hope this year brings about their return.”
Fans have up until the 15th February to order their jerseys, and all orders will be dispatched within four weeks of this date.
