ELLGREN AGREE LEIGH CENTURIONS PARTNERSHIP

Ellgren Ltd are delighted to announce a brand new partnership with Betfred Championship club, Leigh Centurions, for the 2021 season.

Under the agreement, Ellgren will supply all of the Leigh’s playing and training apparel as well as producing a new range of products for their retail operation.

Ellgren is a brand which boasts a rich rugby league heritage, producing some iconic designs which are still fondly remembered to this day. Recently relaunched, the brand has ambitious plans and Ellgren see Leigh Centurions as central to the growth and development of the brand.

Jonathan Schofield, Managing Director, said:

“Ellgren are delighted to have agreed a kit and apparel partnership with Leigh Centurions for season 20/21. Leigh Centurions will be the first club to join Ellgren’s portfolio of clubs since the relaunch of the brand, having last wore the Ellgren brand over 25 years ago in the 1992/1993 season. The club have invested significantly in next season’s squad and are determined to return to Super League, and hopefully we can be part of that journey.

“From the initial meeting with Neil Jukes and the board, it was clear that our vision aligned with the club’s, and we were keen to partner with one of the top clubs in the championship. We are very excited to help grow their retail outlet with a high quality and varied range of merchandise that will appeal to the Leythers’ large and loyal following.”

Leigh Centurions General Manager Neil Jukes said he had been impressed with Ellgren’s vision and ideas.
He said: “When Ellgren first got in touch with us I was so impressed with their positivity. To even try and start something fresh and new in the current climate is commendable and they displayed an enthusiasm which was infectious.

“In numerous meetings, their Managing Director Jonathan Schofield and his team have shown repeatedly how much they wanted to work with us and they see us very much as a flagship for the company.

“Having a technical partner that shares the same goals as us is vitally important to us and I’m sure this is going to be a great relationship for the coming season. I have no doubt that our supporters will love the new designs for playing and training kit and there will be some Leigh fans with Christmas stockings bulging with some top quality Ellgren products. Ellgren have given us so much confidence already with their approach and I think we are going to be a really good fit for each other.

“They are so pleased to have us on board and we will do everything we can to help them grow too.”

Leigh Centurions Head Coach John Duffy said he had been impressed with Ellgren’s approach and their willingness to see things from a player’s point of view.
He said: “Ellgren was all I knew growing up. When I signed for Warrington in 1995 I remember getting two bags full of Ellgren kit and I loved it.

“The new guys at Ellgren are full of fresh ideas and what they’ve shown us has been so innovative and different. We’ve had Liam Hood trying on the new gear and the quality is absolutely first class. Everything they’ve done for us so far has been outstanding. I know they’re a new company but if you look at their personnel, they’re all rugby league people so they know just what the players and fans need and want. It’s a win-win for us.”
